The families of teenagers missing after a deadly inferno at a bar in a Switzerland's winter destination are enduring an agonising period of uncertainty for confirmed information and appealing for any details about their family members online.

The fire ripped through the a popular bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of January 1st. Verified footage reveal the ceiling being engulfed in flames as bottles with fireworks are raised in celebration.

Officials have indicated that it could take an extended period to identify the those who perished of the fire, which killed 40 people and hurt another 119. Officials noted on Friday that 113 of the injured have been identified, with efforts ongoing to locate the final individuals.
