Chiefs State They Are Aware of Alleged Abuse Claims Connected to Player Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment on Wednesday evening confirming they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in online accounts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the league office.
The team omitted the name of Rice specifically in their announcement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice directly, shared a set of images on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.
Police Reports Currently Not on File
No official complaints were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Player's Prior Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left several individuals injured. He was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
On the field, Rice finished the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
